The Vanguard Express family of Protocol and Link analyzers are designed for today's engineer working with PCI Express based development. Useful for debugging, testing and validating the PCI Express protocol, the Vanguard Express analyzer allows testing of x1, x4 and x8 PCI Express card-edge and XMC form factors.
The Vanguard Express PCI Express card-edge Analyzer offers maximum flexibility for multiple form factors through the use of a Serial Analyzer Engine (SAE) and a family of adapter cards. This approach installs between the system slot and the device under test allowing the PCI Express device under test to function normally, while having access to the PCI Express links.
The Vanguard Express is operated via USB or Ethernet while using our BusView 5 Graphical User Interface software running under Windows 2000 or XP. A single workstation can control multiple Vanguard analyzers for monitoring different protocols, like PCI-X/PCI, PMC, CompactPCI or VME.
Multiple Trace View
The Vanguard Express PCIe Analyzer offers several different trace view to increase engineers' productivity. View captured data chronologically, grouped by link transaction or split transactions, traffic per lane or see packet details in a quick and easy way. A unique Data View also enables Vanguard Express users to view PCI Express data in a more PCI like method for ease of reading and interpreting the results.
Protocol Checker
The protocol checker included in the Vanguard Express PCI Express Protocol Analyzer automatically tests the PCI-Express protocol and detects 50 errors to the PCIe specification. This error checking enables the user to easily track down link hardware errors and logical faults without the need to understand the nature of the problem.
Host Exerciser
The host exerciser allows a Microsoft Windows host system to generate PCI Express transactions from the root complex to the attached end points.
Statistics
The Vanguard Express PCIe Analyzer enables real-time measurement of user defined events or pre-programmed events such as transfer rates, TLP type distribution, DLLP type distribution, PLP type distribution, payload length distribution and link utilization.
