BusView is a Windows application included with all Vanguard Analyzer products. It provides ease of use, control, display and readability. Because of the commonality in the software, all analyzer functionality has a similar look and feel regardless of the protocol being analyzed: PCI Express, PCI/PCI-X or VME.
Share the analyzer with others and be able to customize the BusView interface to your needs. Because of the ethernet interface on all Vanguard analyzers, both local and remote users can share a single test tool. Each user can specify the settings, icons, trace setups, etc. to their requirements.
Using BusView, one workstation can control multiple analyzers simultaneously. Simply by starting another session, the user can select from a list of attached analyzers to communicate with over the available USB or Ethernet connections.
The BusView software is displayed in three main parts: the workspace window, the status window and the tools area.
The Workspace Window
Each function of your analyzer is highlighted in the Workspace Window. Simply right click on any folder to begin a new session or open a saved session. This window enables the user to begin work and opens windows in the Tools Area.
The Status Window
For a running list of all activity in the analyzer, look for the status window at the bottom of the screen (default location). This window can display a log of every activity, display bus device information, display current voltage/temperature levels, display details of packet headers or graph the bus utilization and efficiency of the system under test.
The Tools Area
The largest portion of the BusView screen is committed to the Tools Area. This window is where the user controls setups, views trace data, sees statistics graphs, can get help on protocol violations, define exerciser commands, run compliance tests, etc. Many tool tips and decoding are available for ease of use and help with interpretation of trace data.
