LVDS-MOD2 LVDS I/O adapter module for PMC-FPGA01/02

The LVDS-MOD2 I/O adapter is an LVDS transceiver module which provides LVTTL to LVDS logic translation for Transtech boards fitted with Xilinx Virtex II™ FPGAs.

Description
The LVDS-MOD2 board uses active Bus LVDS transceivers with integrated LVDS termination resistors, which are fully compatible with standard unidirectional point-to-point LVDS signaling. The buffers can be operated in either direction. Pull-down resistors on the module ensure that the transceivers are set to receive mode while the FPGA is not configured.

The module uses a SCSI-II/SCSI-III style HD68 Female with screwlocks and latches. An example of this is the Honda type PCS-XE68SLFDU2. Cable connector type should be a SCSI HD68 style male, designed for Ultra160 or Ultra320 LVD operation.

Firmware
The module comes with complete firmware examples for interfacing the module to the FPGA on the Transtech card. In the examples, all FPGA I/O signals are at LVTTL levels, with the I/O voltage (VCCIO) set to 3.3V and appropriate buffers are instantiated in the top level VHDL file.
