VMETRO Digital Signal Processors

VMETRO supports a number of solutions for high-end DSP applications. Primarily, these are based on scalable PowerPC and FPGA solutions with COTS boards formats that support high-speed serial communication. These include VXS, VPX, XMC and PMC with Aurora or PCI Express data links. Processors supported include PowerPC 7447A, PowerPC 7448 and MPC8641D CPUs. These processors are closely coupled to Xilinx Virtex family FPGAs for communications and DSP acceleration – including Xilinx’s latest generation, the Virtex-5 family.
